I’m still pretty flabbergasted by the curly hair, but I think I have come to terms with it for now. Since it’s still fairly short, it isn’t too difficult to manage. I have found some great hair care products that aren’t full of toxins, so I feel comfortable using them. I also feel comfortable with how much I have educated myself on properly caring for curly hair.
At my April oncology follow up, my doctor told me that most people who have different hair after chemo, do actually get a version of their prior hair back after a couple of years. I guess there isn’t much to do except wait and see what happens.
It’s definitely growing, and I am happy with that. I stretched out a curl today, and it measured just under 9 inches! Last summer it was less than 2 inches in length.
My eyebrows and eyelashes are in a similar state to January. Lashes are pretty normal. They aren’t quite as thick as they use to be, but I can handle that. However, I’m not hopeful for ever having real eyebrows again. They are still very sparse and very light in color. Pretty much unnoticeable so I’m still filling them in.
