Homeschooling mamas, I just want to leave you an encouraging note today.
The workbook is not in charge of you or your child! Don’t let your workbooks control how you educate your child.
My children love coming across my big mark outs on their pages. Finding something marked out gives them a little boost in morale, too! It gives them a tangible way, other than grades and discussions, to know that I see how well they are doing, or know that they are fairly proficient at a skill and need to practice it fewer times to keep sharp.
Don’t be afraid to cross out problems in your workbooks, too. You know your child better than any book does, so show them you see their diligence and give them a little break in the repetitive motions of practicing the same skills.
There’s a fringe benefit to this as well – less to grade and it just might give your child a little extra pep to complete the assignment more quickly!
