A couple of weeks ago, in an effort to begin using up some of my stockpile of peanut butter, I threw some smoothie ingredients in the blender and added some peanut butter! It actually came out nicely, so I began playing with it to get it just right and we now love it.
I really think you’ll enjoy this one!
What you need:
~ 2 ripe bananas (not frozen)
~ 2 cups ice
~ 8 oz. plain yogurt (I use homemade yogurt*)
~ ½ cup peanut butter
Place all ingredients in blender and give it a whirl until it’s the consistency you like. I blend mine until completely smooth so the kids don’t have issues with sucking up big chunks in their straws!
This recipe makes 32 oz.
Variation: Replace the unfrozen bananas and ice with 4-5 frozen bananas. This gives it a stronger banana flavor and since the bananas are frozen, you can leave out the ice.
* My yogurt tends to be a little thinner than store bought, so you might need to add a few ounces of water (or whey, if you have it) during blending to get it to the proper consistency.

Somehow, I get the feeling that this will not work well with my Weight Watcher points.
I bet it would be fine. You could use WW approved yogurt. I also use all natural (no added sugar or oils) peanut butter. It makes plenty for me and all 3 kids, so you’re really only consuming about 1/4 of the recipe!
We love these smoothies and have been having tons with bananas. Thanks for sharing, but make sure you add a link back to Tasty Tuesday….

Goodness, I’m so sorry. I posted it at night and then linked up in the morning and forgot to add the link-back to your post.
This is one of my favorite smoothies. I also like adding a couple teaspoons of cocoa and a drizzle of honey to it when I’m having a chocolate craving.
