Ever have one of those smells you just can’t get off your hands after cutting something like onions or garlic? Yep, me too! I know most of us know the trick of letting the water run over a stainless steel knife blade (because stainless steel somehow neutralizes the odor) onto your hands, right?* Well, I got pretty fed up with this method because 1) it wasn’t working and 2) it didn’t seem like an activity I wanted to find my children trying to repeat.
Then, one day, around two years ago, I was watching Rachael Ray and she had a nifty little stainless steel bar that she “washed” her hands with after chopping garlic. I was mystified and went on a hunt!
I discovered that there are many choices of stainless steel bars out there and they all serve the same purpose. So, I chose the least expensive model available – it is actually the size and shape of an average bar of soap!
It’s called Rub*A*Way and I love it!
* I am aware that the standard soap and water work for many of you, but I am apparently an odd-ball and this method does not even touch strong odors on my skin. I DO wash regularly with soap and water when preparing food. Just so you know!
